Choosing the right paint colour

There are no hard fast rules to choosing your paint colour, but to avoid some common pitfalls select at least 3-4 colours you are drawn to and will sit well with your existing flooring and furniture.
Always choose a washable paint, yes they may cost a little more but your paintwork will look fresh and clean for a lot longer without the need to re-decorate again … Remember you pay cheap you pay twice.

• The simplest way to choose your paint colour is to begin with colours you love, that way you’re not constrained by a particular scheme to style the rest of your room, use your favourite colour as inspiration to create your other decor around it. 
• Paint your samples on to card so you can move them around the room and view them in different shadows and lights.
• Colour changes constantly depending on the light in the room, the paint will look entirely different depending on the time of the day and in electric lighting, make sure you’re happy with the colour in all varieties of light.
• If you have a north facing room, warm and earthy colours will look better than cooler neutral tones, whereas neutral cooler tones really come to life in a sunny room.
